I recently took Roy's class, "Mixing Rich Colors With Acrylics" at Jerry's, West Orange, using professional grade Golden paints. It was a great class! The class was very intense, but it was also fun, exciting, and quite cerebral! We covered many topics in a very short span of time, but it is definitely worth taking this class if you want to expand upon your current knowledge base of colors and painting techniques. Roy lectured on Golden acrylic paints (and the multiple new products Golden sells such as molding pastes, etc.) as well as topics such as color theory, optical mixing, glazing, and other abstract concepts before allowing each of us to practice the concepts in class using the different paints/pigments. His handouts are also amazing, because they are very simple to understand and paint on, but they simultaneously reinforce the learning process and concepts he teaches. All in all it was a great afternoon! I'm looking forward to taking more classes with Roy as soon as I can.
