image Very good doctor,

image I have been a patient since before the name was changed from Elite to Advanced. Treatment has always been appropriate depending on my actual needs at the time. Doctors and staff are professional and friendly.

image I had the great pleasure of being one of Dr. Schoenfeld's patients. He takes the time to listen and explain what is going on and what he can do and what he can't. I have 32 surgical screws and since I saw Dr. S I am coping with my discomfort and pain. I found his staff to be friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend them highly.

image What this office does is immoral and unethical. Under the pretense that they are following NJ Laws for medical marijuana, granted that is true, they charge $225 for an initial visit and then $150 for the each next 3 visits in order to fulfill the NJ Laws that require to establish a bona fide physician-patient relationship. The office does not tell you this when we inquired about fees. I was under the assumption that it would be $225 and we would be able to be registered with the State! To make another point, if one is establishing a relationship with a doctor, why wouldn't it be covered under our insurance? It's a scam and a way to get more money out of you!!! Another option, which they do not offer you when you first make the appointment, is to find a doctor that manages whichever approved debilitating medical condition for medical marijuana. That way you can establish yourself as a patient of that doctor and they will be able to prescribe it. Unfortunately, the medical system is broken and we have doctors that will take full advantage of that system! Had I gone in there and asked for some type of opioid for pain, I'm sure I could have walked out of the office with a script in hand...on the first visit!! Just because they are following the rules does not make it right!!! One more thing....the office manager, I believe her name is Arlena is rude and downright arrogant. She brushed me off the phone saying that what they are doing is not unethical and that: "We are paying for the doctor's time!!" She also added that there are doctors that set up offices at a Marriotts and charge $75 but their higher cost is for having a nice office!! The doctor was nice but he only asked a few questions about allergies and past history and that was it! I'm wondering what he could possibly do for $150 with each subsequent visit!?! I rather go to a Marriott and pay $75 for each visit than pay for their "nice" office!

image I feel compelled to write this seeing how its 3:31am and I cant sleep because of my pain and anxiety. My wife told me about the medical marijuana conditions and that I'm a perfect candidate to receive a prescription. I received a call back from this Dr
office and was eagerly made an appointment for that very same day and I was told it will cost me $225 cash to see the Dr for medical marijuana. I didn't care about the cost I was just thrilled at the fact I was finally going to get help for my insomnia. I was told nothing else but I assumed I was going to talk to a Dr, go through some kind of processes to verify my herniated disc, my 3 reconstructive knee surgeries, arthritic pain I recently started getting throughout my body, and my resulting anxiety and insomnia. But instead I was in waiting for around 1hr 30 min then greeted by a Dr that walked into the room giving me a weird look and insisted I was there before trying to get a prescription. He instantly tried to make me feel as if I was some kind of scum bag going in there looking for weed because I want weed. I was embarrassed and wanted to leave because his 1st few questions involved "WHERE IS YOUR PROOF". Totally legitimate question but I thought I was going there to get my proof and eventually get my prescription. While soft spoken, the Dr made me feel like I had no right being there. Everytime I tried bringing the conversation to how can a prove my conditions, what exactly do I have to do, can you get my medical records fowarded to your office, he would discouraged me and say "were is my proof". He made it seem like I needed 6 months to a year of continuous narcotic pain killer use and seeing a Dr that would do nothing to actually help my problems but keep giving me prescriptions, was my only way of getting alternative help. I was so confused because this is the reason I was going to him, the alternative to what I've rejected for years and never wanted the recommended chemical heavy, drug addicting narcotic means of help that every Dr I ever went to recommended to me. I left his office trying to stay optimistic but as I drove home, I realised that I will never get my help. I will have to deal with being awake at, now 4:20am every morning because I can't sleep because I'm in pain and have horrible anxiety every night. I ended up being furious at the fact that at no point while talking with his staff was I told I will need proof of my conditions and past attempts at treatment. I thought they would have been able to get it from my general practitioner and if needed I would have gathered everything else from my previously useless chiropractors, back Dr and my records for my knee surgeries. But I was made to feel like I had no choice but to except my $225 lose and come back when I'm addicted to pain killers, spent a fortune on them and saw Dr that is willing to give me all the prescription for these narcotics. I'm sure the Dr was dealing with a lot of people going there looking for legal weed because they want legal weed. But as a Dr he should understand that there are people like me that genuinely need help but I've rejected narcotics and never wanted them in my life, so there is no proof of treatment for pain other then chiropractor visits. If I needed proof of pain killer usage as my means of getting alternative medication I would have kept my $225 and done something I hadn't done in years and find away to buy it ILLEGALLY! Wow what a world.
