image My son and daughter currently attend and I couldn't be happier. My son has started reading even though he is just 4 and my daughter can do second grade math even though she is just starting Kindergarten. They both love going to school, and adore all their teachers. New Horizons has a warm and home-like feel to it which we love. Every interaction has been pleasant, whether it is with the director, assistants or teachers. We receive regular and direct communication from the teachers which can range from our child's latest milestones or achievements to simply sharing a photo of our child doing their work. The way they nurture the children and really invest in their learning and exploring is greatly appreciated. My daughter will miss the school dearly as she moves on to Kindergarten at public school but fortunately we still have another year for my son.

image I have three daughters (3, 4.5, 6) and each one thrives at New Horizons Montessori.
As an active and engaged parent, I absolutely love our experience at NHM and heres why
First, quality education. With my oldest in WW-P Kindergarten, I can tell you firsthand more learning happens here than the public school. NHM Teachers encourage their students to continuously learn new things and do so in a way that aligns with their individual journey. My 4.5 and 6 year old are both reading chapter books and working on multiplication and division concepts, while my 3 year old is counting in multiple languages and finessing the mechanics of handwriting.
Second, style of play. Its less about being Montessori and more about embracing the fine art of play. NHM Teachers facilitate both focus and curiosity in their classroom so kids have a chance to figure out what they want to do (vs. being directed). This comes out in how my girls play at home where I no longer need to prep a list of activities. Rather, they find more joy in figuring out different ways to entertain themselves.
But my favorite part of all extends beyond the academic and social elements and straight into the heart of NHM feeling like home. The environment reflects how I would choose to spend the day with my girls if I wasnt working full time. No devices, no distractions. But focused attention. Thoughtful observation. And above all truly deep care and commitment for the development of these tiny humans.

image My two boys have been attending this school for the past two years and have thrived in the nurturing and supportive environment. We initially moved our eldest to NHM from another preschool in the area and after the first month we couldn't have been happier. We've experienced all three classrooms between our two boys and each experience has been great. All the teachers have been with the school over 15 years, which is rare to find. The teachers and administrator's always answered our questions, addressed concerns, and always made time to talk. The school has really helped both boys develop their independence and self confidence. We're moving next month and sad to leave but we're very grateful for the opportunity to have had our children attend NHM.

image We had a terrible experience with this school's director.  After making it clear that visiting the classroom was very important in our decision on which Montessori to enroll with, we were shown a class we were happy with and chose to enroll both children at New Horizons.  The center director was eager to get her deposit check for both children. She did not reply to phone calls and email requests for another visit before starting school to help introduce my children to the new school, and on the 2nd visit (which was now the week before was scheduled to start, due to the delays in her replies), she did not know the children's names despite scheduling the visit, stated that my daughter would not be in the classroom that had been toured originally, and the classroom she had been reassigned to was not available to tour because it was in renovation. Instead of the large well-lit open class we were toured originally, she was re-assigned to what appeared to be an attic classroom unavailable to tour because it was being renovated.  She then insisted in arguing with me about all of this while my 2 year old had a meltdown and my daughter was confused and dismayed.  She was so unprofessional and clearly not interested in my children's well-being.  After this terrible experience and lack of trust, I decided not to enroll my children with this school.  She then refused to refund ANY of the $2510 we had paid to the school in deposits and tuition thus far, without a SINGLE day of child attendance.  We had to obtain an attorney to pursue her.  Review your contracts carefully as no matter what happens or how unhappy you are with the school or director, they will keep all of your money. The teachers seemed nice but the center director was unbelievable. There are much better, honest, reliable Montessori schools in the area that genuinely care for the children and have standards of professionalism.
