Aikido Centers of Nj in Sparta is second to none. Truly a family atmosphere among students and instructors. Sensei O'Connor is one of the best, if not the best on the east coast. Come see for yourself. Highly recommend.

You have a lot of martial arts schools you can choose from. Here's the reasons you should check out acnj.
First, Aikido is a terrific art for real world situations. You might go your whole life without being in a "do or die" situation, but the odds are that you will find yourself at some time in a hostile situation of a lower level, even if it is just dealing with belligerent shouting. Aikido teaches all levels of response, so that you can deal with any situation in an ethical, appropriate manner. And with that comes a level of confidence and calmness in the face of stress which will help you in any stressful situation you should find yourself in.
Second, a lot of martial arts schools are more serious about draining your wallet than teaching. Not the case here. The fees are reasonable and the dedication to high level instruction is second to none.
Third, let's face it, a lot of martial arts schools are populated by jerks. Not the case here. The people are friendly and supportive. You definitely feel that everyone there wants you to do well.
Fourth, going back to Aikido being a great art: regardless of how out of shape you might be, you can do aikido AND regardless of how in shape you are, the training will be a challenge for you. Aikido practice is totally scalable.
And the conditioning with aikido is a sort of balanced total body training that few other activities offer. Endurance, quickness, agility, balance, mobility, and strength all improve with regular training. Every muscle group gets involved.
