Used Trusty Tree for some pruning and dead branch removal. My neighbor decided to have a tree removed on their property bordering close to mine but it would be best to take it down from my property . That was OK until they decided that rather than cutting the tree into manageable sized sections they took about 40-50 foot section off and put it into my driveway leaning on my house. The attached photo is my neighbors tree on my house. If I am neighborly and allow you to use my property, my house shouldn't be at risk.Very unprofessional. There are better options out there. Trusty Tree did a fabulous job for us. We had a huge 300+ year old tree that was in serious decline close to our house. We were referred to Trusty Tree through a neighbor who had had a positive experience. Mary and her staff were wonderful. Her quote was so much better than the one I received from another tree service. They had to use a crane to remove the tree over my house. Everything went smoothly and they cleaned up beautifully. I prefer not to leave negative reviews for local businesses, but here we are. The positive is that we had a fine experience with them for most of our interaction in terms of the fact that they did the service at a competitive price. Everything was amicable up until it came time to settle the invoice after the work was done. I was assured (in writing) that there would be no damage to our lawn for the tree removal. There ended up being some torn up lawn and tire marks. Not a huge deal but we asked to have a conversation about how they would fix the lawn before we settle their invoice. Something switched in the owner where he started screaming at us, saying payment is due immediately once the work is complete (I did not sign anything to that effect nor did I agree to that) and that I was withholding payment. Ignoring the fact that all we wanted to do is understand what they would do about the lawn damage (which they flipped between saying there was absolutely no damage and then saying that it was normal wear and tear to be expected for a project like this and that "damage" would be a "giant hole in our yard"), they threatened to call the police on us if we did not pay immediately (an empty threat, because the police would not involve themselves in an invoice or contract dispute). Another employee told my pregnant wife that she was being overly upset because she is pregnant. I can't say whether this was just isolated incident, but a horrendous attitude from the owner of this business and a complete lack of professionalism and no semblance of customer service. I will never call them again nor could, in good conscience, ever recommend them. There are plenty of other tree removal services in the area with actual integrity.
