Paid $10,000 to this law firm to attempt to make incremental changes to a custody agreement and have the state calculated child support enforced. The only time there was adequate communication was when they would come, hat in hand, to request funds after they deplete retainer deposit after retainer deposit. Every time the retainer was depleted, there seemed to be no progress at all, only new bills; when questioned about what could possibly cost so much so quick when there were no court dates and minimal contact with the defenses attorney they wouldnt defend the work, they would just inform that if we want a less expensive attorney they could put one of the less experienced one on the case. Thank god we didnt do that or we would end up owing the defendant child support. The pathetic motion filed after $10,000 was literally thrown out of court without any hearing. They say that they cant control the judges opinion but in fact, they can. It is called drafting a competent, compelling motion; but perhaps that would cost $20,000. After all was said and done we were supposed to have a credit for the unused portion of the retainer, but that disappeared as well, in fact they credited a courtesy amount of $300. How nice. I dont like bad reviews, I think that 1 star is an actual rarity and seldom deserved.(For reference please see my other reviews by clicking on my profile!) But this scathing star is earned. At no point during the evaporative depletion of this $10,000 was anyone informed that the case was weak, that any goal was unreasonable or unreachable, that there should be caution of reckless procession; no, the only utterance was the foreboding silence of an attorney too distracted to draft a competent motion. Perhaps the judge will hear your case. Perhaps you should seek better counsel. But one thing is for sure, we arent in control of that!

Update: The next attorney office retained was able to draft a compelling argument that was heard by the court. Such was achieved in a fraction of the time and done so at a fraction of the price. This is to say that the case is not frivolous or unwinnable, just required competency, care, or both.
I would also like to point out this office's response to this review. Stating that "they don't recognize" me as a client goes to prove their dishonesty in the face of such a major gaffe. They know exactly who I am and what this in reference to they even tried to pressure my significant other to have me take this review down. In fact, when my significant other posted a carbon copy of my review they commented on it in detail. Unfortunately, my significant other was forced to delete her review after their response was made because such details they decided to include referenced both very personal and expressly privileged information which they thought prudent to put on display. Help yourself instead of the opposing counsel; run, don't walk, to a different office!

I was divorced in 2007 and fortunate to have Rosanne Detorres, Esquire as my attorney. Her knowledge, professionalism and unwavering strength helped me tremendously in navigating through the legal aspects of divorce at a most difficult time in my life. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive the agreed upon Support and over time the arrearages kept accruing. I attempted to enforce the past due support and represented myself due to lack of funds to no avail. In 2020 both of the X’s parents were deceased and as a beneficiary to his parents trust would be receiving a great deal of money. I notified New Jersey Child Support, Hunterdon County Probation along with Los Angeles Child Support staff & attorney’s and an attorney in California whom I hired on Contingency who have attempted to collect the arrearages on my behalf over time. During the process, I hired Carolyn Hand, Esquire from D & D in February 2021 to assist in a matter regarding Retroactive Termination of Support. Carolyn was extremely kind and compassionate. Her recommendation was an honest assessment of the situation and helped to create the best plan to end 15 years of attempts on my part to collect the Support that is due. Although it was necessary for me to negotiate the Spousal Support, I will receive the Child Support in full. Everything has worked out for the best and am thankful for the ability to finally find closure after many years thanks to all the support and kindness of all involved.
