image East Brunswick has the second best school district in NJ. First, being Pompton Lakes. The school is big, but it doesn't take long to memorize where all the classrooms are. They have very experienced teachers, that teach a lot of good stuff for a child who is thinking of going off to college.  The counselors will take most of that risk. Games are hosted weekly here, so be sure to miss out! They're always a hit! There are great clubs such as architecture, anime, and so much more!   The school does not have air conditioning which is a bit of a letdown, but it's not my biggest issue. This is a great high school, and if you have children that are thinking of moving to East Brunswick. This would be a great choice!

image If you can, try to avoid going here or sending your children here. I am a graduate of 2018 and i have lots to say in the 3 years that I was at this school. First off, they do not keep track of what they have going on in the school. When I came in the school for 10th grade back in 2016, certain locks were broken on the bathroom doors, certain hand dryers did not work, every single day the same toilets would flood in different hallways and the ceiling will leak in multiple hallways a handful of times through out the week. Now in 2018 none of those problems are fixed. All of those problems are still present. Other things I have seen were cracked windows in classrooms which were not covered up for multiple days, and when it was finally covered up, they cut a piece from a box and stuck it there. The other window that was broken was right in the middle of the terminal where every student walks through during the day, and that was never fixed. To add to that, the WiFi is terrible and the computers they have are not up to specs to do what teachers make us do. Also, note that there is no AC in this school so starting in around May or so, you might wanna bring your own fan, water and maybe even a gas mask so you won't have to smell the people who don't shower, or wear deodorant. Next up we have the strictness of EBHS. So, first off they go nuts on wearing your ID's to the point where lets say you forgot it at home, they will not let you in the school. You have to go to the main office and buy a new one for $5 and they will probably give you a detention along with it. Then there is a bunch of other stuff where if you take pictures with your phone inside the school and they find out, then it is a legal matter and they will get the cops in on it to investigate and obviously probably give you a detention. To add to that, when prom week comes, you must come into school everyday of the week before, and you must be on time, you cannot be late to school or they will take your prom away. Same thing with graduation which is the week after that, if you do not show up on time or are absent then you cannot walk at graduation, and that is what stood out to me the most. Graduation is a once in a life time event for you and your family and they do not let you (the graduate) bring your cell phone with you. You cannot take pictures up on the stage, with your class after the ceremony outside, you cannot do anything. If they find your phone, they take it and you have to get it back after the event. Moving on, lets talk about the Lunch they have. So they serve Chicken Sandwiches (crispy, grilled, or spicy) Burgers, Pizza (Pepperoni, Sausage or plain) or you can get flatbread pizza on another line, which i never got so i do not know which kind they have. They also have Pasta, Salad, Mozzarella sticks or a line that has different kinds of stuff all the time. Sometimes it is Chipotle like food, chinese food, waffles, eggs & bacon or sausage, and other stuff like that. The food is decent, it isnt mind blowing but if you are really hungry then you will eat it. There have been times where people find bugs and hair in their food so keep that in mind. The lines in the lunch are ridiculous, you have 20 minutes to eat and if you do not get to the line 1 minute after the bell rings to end the class to go to lunch, then you will spend 10-15 minutes standing in line trying to get the food because everyone starts Naruto running there to get their lunch quick and then the cool kids that come late just walk in and cut everyone and that just starts a chain reaction and the line goes bezerk so you will have to fight for your spot. I definitely have lots more to say if I really dug deep but I think that would be enough. Last thing I will add is the traffic in the hallways after periods, people just don't know how to walk and you are just in a sea of people snailing around. To just give them SOME credit, most of the teachers are nice and friendly, so are the guidance counselors who are all willing to help you if you are willing to accept it and work with them.
