I reached out to them regarding my civil suit against my previous Dentist. They referred me to Starr and Jacovota. They weren't able to help me. I called them back and informed them of same. The lady I spoke with said that, they should have been able to help me. She then, said she would reach out to me with another Attorney. I have not heard back. I called the bar association on May 10, 2023. No answer. I called back again and left a message for the Executive director. I have not heard back yet. I don't have a Court date yet but, I do know that, the person im suing has an Attorney. I need one also. Please help!

When calling to request a referral of an attorney for an estate matter, I specifically stated they should not refer me to a specific lawyer, Richard M. Cohen, who advertises himself as an "elder care lawyer". He had previously been involved with the situation and had behaved with incredible dishonesty, to the detriment of a vulnerable elderly man. I certainly didn't want this man notified I was considering legal action in this matter. Guess which attorney I was referred to, and he was notified that I'd made a request for referral? What a terrible experience.

I called to get a referral from the Camden County Bar Association. The phone was answered by a woman. She was exceptionally dismissive from the onset of our call and when I asked for an attorney with some specific specifications, she decided it was appropriate to refer me to SJLS since its for poor and low-income people. I then said that was not at all the case and I was seeking an Estate attorney on the behalf of a friend. She then began to take my information and I asked why it was necessary to take my personal information down. She stated it was for the referral. I asked if I would become a lead and the attorney would be reaching out to me. She said no and it was for the referral. I asked if they would be receiving a referral fee or kick-back from this service. She became exceptionally nasty with me and I shared with her I did not appreciate her tone and would remember this the next time I think about referring anyone to this bar. As someone who has done intakes, made referrals, and been a Paralegal talking with many people from many walks of life, I can only say that she was beyond rude and I would hesitate to ever affiliate myself with this organization in the future. Im grossly disappointed in this experience but not for me. This is what clients and people in need of assistance are subject to and that is appalling.
