I moved to the Burlington area recently so I emailed the mosque to ask about Jummah times. I received a response but was also informed there is a parking permit application that needs to be completed and I was sent a paypal link for payment. I was surprised to see the parking permit fee of $250. Look, I am not cheap by any means, but I am also not rich. For someone that is struggling to make ends meet and is just looking for a place to pray, that is way too much of a financial burden. I have been to a lot of mosques but have never seen a mosque charge a parking fee. So I replied to the response I received asking if that is a mandatory amount or if we're able to donate whatever we can. I never received a response. About a week later I again followed up, as I thought maybe they had forgotten to respond, but again no response. I am not bashing the mosque because of this, but in my humble opinion this is not a very good practice. You are turning away many that are unable to make this payment.
