image Absolutely the most INCOMPETENT town manager and employees that work here.

image I wanted to take a sofa to the town tranfer station. When you go to the website, it takes you to a generic city of Salem web page. So there are no instructions on what to do. I take the old sofa down to the transfer station during open hours and the guy at the gate tells me I need a permit from city hall! Which is closed until Monday. How ridiculous is that? Windham sells their permit stickers at the transfer station! And Rochester (where I moved from) just needs to see proof of residency, no permit required. Now I have nowhere to take this Sofa. What an incompetent system. Not to mention the guy at the gate was rude and not helpful. He just chuckled and closed his window. What an incompetent system.

image I moved to Salem, NH, July of 2021. I've been to the Salem Town Hall three or four times since then. Never have I ever had any issues. Everybody there is friendly, helpful, and obviously very knowledgeable.
Just today I went there to simply get my town dump sticker renewed. Salem Town Hall reminded me that I could also renew my registration even though it wasn't due until November - because it is in the time frame.
BONUS! So I don't have to come back in November nor do I have to do it online.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy. SOOOOO thankful
