image Outside unlimited was contracted by our builder to complete the landscaping and hydroseeding at our property. This was a new development and the hydroseeding had been done prior to possession of the property in the winter. After the Spring thaw and into May the lawn not only wasn't growing in, there were massive patches of dirt where clearly no seed had ever hit the ground. Furthermore, you can tell that they must have used a very heavy mulch to seed ratio based on the spotting pattern in the lawn (see picture). Not sure what to do, I called two lawn treatment companies who refused to treat the "lawn" as they recommended contacting the company (Outside Unlimited) to remedy the issue. I also contacted two landscaping companies and they suggested that to fix it, it would require bringing in loam and reseeding at close to $15K. I contacted Jonah Daigle, the General Manager of Outside Unlimited after being instructed by the builder. I was then told by Jonah to call the builder as it was an issue they needed to handle. Clearly they recognized there was an issue. Finally, I received a call back from one of their hydroseed experts from Outdoor Unlimited. She was very nice and informed me she went to my property and looked at the lawn and assessed it. She said the best way to remedy would be to do another hydroseeding for $1300. I'm disappointed, that the only solution was to charge me for the same job that should have been done correctly the first time. I'm sure that being in a new housing development with big houses we're prime targets for getting taken advantage of, but this just doesn't seem right. If this were my business, I would want to do right by my customers - residential and commercial. If you're starting to research companies who provide hydroseeding services, hopefully this review will help.
