David kept me at ease during a difficult time. His kindness and extreme professionalism is unsurpassed. His staff are friendly, efficient and caring. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. There is no one in Reno I wold recommend but David Houston. 5 stars isn't enough.

David Houston is an intelligent lawyer with a variety of positive endorsements online. I however, had a different experience. I worked with Dave and his practice for a year on a 1st offense DUI. His staff was always friendly and initially I was impressed by his perspective and knowledge. However, over time there was a lack of responsiveness and even professionalism. His condescending communication style almost made me change lawyers, but the cost prohibited it.I've read reviews that he has excellent relationships with district attorneys, prosecutors, and judges but I didn't see that. In my case it would often take weeks for them to get back to Mr. Houston. Not something I would expect if those relationships were there, or he just wasn't following up with them as I would expect. I would send a reminder email on a topic after several weeks and Dave's response would be "the DA just got back to me this morning". There were other times where I would try to call or email with questions regarding my case and answers would come a week or two later, with some form of patronizing language layered in.There were multiple holes and potential defenses in my case that I hoped would lead to a reduced or dismissed charge. David represented me in my DMV hearing, and I still ended up with my license suspended. He represented me in my criminal hearing, and I still ended up with a DUI and the attached penalties.If you have a complicated felony criminal case, then Dave is probably worth exploring. If you have a high-profile celebrity case like Hulk Hogan, then Dave is probably worth exploring. If you are seeking counsel for DUI, he is overpriced. Save yourself some money and choose from several other highly reputable lawyers in Reno that will get results.
