We wanted to rent out the ballroom for our wedding reception. That was the beginning of our folly. Since the very first contact with the witch that is CJ Hill, activity director from hell, the experience was nothing but pulling teeth. She always had some rule or excuse for why you couldn't do things a certain way, and if you could do them, there was always a fee attached. She offered no flexibility and made planning our wedding an unnecessarily stressful and infuriating experience. She expected all paperwork to be done accurately and in a timely manner, always threatening to cancel your event in the event that you weren't. Did I mention that she "forgot" to tell us that the dance floor was damaged 5 days before our event and offered us a $50 discount? She refused to pay for a rental dance floor but someone in upper management was a little kinder. She wouldn't let the bride-to-be come and view the ballroom nor would she allow any other vendors to, because she has a one viewing policy for the entirety of your reservation. She charged me $150 because my cake delivery came early. And now she has an evil minion by the name of Kayla who is learning to follow in her footsteps. The day of our wedding, when we entered the club for the first time, the first thing she says to us is "you must be cleared out before your reservation time is over". She then proceeded to stuff her face at our buffet. And when it came time to refund me my deposit, she conveniently took her time saying that I should understand it will take time for their organization to process it. I'm not sure if using their event planning service is better, but I would not recommend anyone ever have a function, especially a wedding, at this forsaken place.
