After a horrific and useless experience at MU Allergy, I took my infant son with distinct allergy and eczema issues to Dr. Fowler. I could still cry thinking about our first appointment. She took nearly an hour with us, listened, and confirmed that I wasn't crazy. She got us a prescription for an EpiPen without needing to see evidence of a reaction via an oral challenge, but she is willing to do them. She gave us free samples of allergen-free formula to get us through the first months. Sometimes she takes a while to call back, but I don't even care because she is a great allergist. So thankful!

The staff was nice, and very friendly, they took great care to make sure my little girl was taken care of at all times, I have no complaint there. The problem that I have with it is that the test done was just horrible. The test came back where my little girl was positive for almost everything on the sheet. The doctor clearly had a agenda against dairy and all dairy products. My little girl has never not once had an reaction to any dairy products. My nephew has an actual dairy allergy (blood work confirmed), and my little girl has none of the same symptoms. After some questioning of the results I got the doctor to admit that if my little girl had ate any products containing what she tested for that the test would show up positive, this lead me to believe that there was a number of false positives in the test. Before I let a chemistry experiment happen on my daughter, I am going to need actual tests done, with blood work to prove she is allergic to something.
I felt that the doctor was pushy about starting sooner than later (aka next week), only after I made it clear that I was skeptical of the test did she back off and say give it 3 months. I really hope that for children and adults who have actual allergies that they help people, but right now I am not convinced that they would help my daughter with her seasonal allergies any better then OTC products.
