Baxter Gardens completely transformed our backyard with a 12 foot high retaining wall to extend our backyard 25 feet, custom fountain, thoughtfully placed landscape lights, irrigation system and a beautiful woodlands garden landscape plan that took advantage of native trees and shrubs while interspersing some exotic species that are hardy to survive our winters. With a project this big, some challenges naturally arose and Baxter always stepped up to find a good and fair solution.

My wife and I had the opportunity to work with JT and his team at Baxter Gardens to redesign the landscaping of our front yard. We recently bought a house and the landscaping had much to be desired. We met with JT at the house to go over design and plant selection. JT was very friendly and made the process easy. Admittedly, my wife and I were clueless about the type and size of plants that would work for our front yard. JT was able to take our ideas and come-up with a design that looked great and is easily manageable (that was key as we do not have green thumbs). I highly recommend JT and Baxter Gardens as a trustworthy company to engage when choosing a landscaping/hardscape contractor for your needs. We're looking forward to using them for our backyard redesign as well!

Baxter Gardens was hired to redo planting beds, and also installed a pack of identical, new bushes last fall. By spring they were not doing well. We contacted them, and they blamed it on the early freeze we experienced, and replaced the dead products.
After the new bushes were installed we noticed that they already had black portions at the bottom, and questioned the health, believing that we were having poor stock pawned off under a warranty. Foolishly, we trusted that it was not problematic from a reputable company.
We then proceeded to amply water the bushes every other day, as instructed (as even our water bill reflects). They continued to show nothing but deterioration, most turning partially black within a week and a half.
We contacted them again, when it was clear they were beyond help. We then ceased pouring more water onto dead plants while waiting for Baxter to proceed. Days later they stopped by to evaluate them, and days after that we were contacted. They said the soil and roots were dry on inspection, so the plants must have died from not being watered. Therefore, they would not be replaced.
I will accept many opinions, but the one I will not is being called a liar, especially when already having given the other party the benefit of doubt on questionable inventory. Consequently the future business I intended to give will be going elsewhere, and the neighbors, friends, and family who have seen and eagerly inquired about who did our landscaping have been informed.
On a positive note, the installers are polite and do a nice job. The lead Benito is very friendly. I only wish management shared the same values and honesty as their workers.

Baxter Gardens of Chesterfield has provided landscaping services on many the same projects I provided engineering services. They provide great landscape drawings and remarkable final results. I recommend them to most of my clients.
