I contacted the law firm to ask questions. I was told that I needed to schedule a consultation to speak with Mr. Cunningham, so I scheduled a consultation. Amber contacted me for my consultation, and the first thing that she asked for was my social security number. I informed Amber that I would like to have my questions answered and choose Mr. Cunningham as my attorney before I provide my social security number. Amber informed me that Mr. Cunningham prefers to get clients social security number before having a consultation. As I tried to explain to Amber that I was not comfortable giving my social security number yet, she placed me on hold. Mr. Cunningham came on the phone line and proceeded to express his disrespect and unprofessionalism because I was not comfortable giving my social security number. I explained to Mr. Cunningham that I had already spoken to a couple of other law firms, and I didn't have to give my social security number to have a consultation. Mr. Cunningham told me that he has been practicing law for over 40 years, and the law firms that I spoke with were not doing things properly because they were supposed to get my social security number before having a consultation. I told Mr. Cunningham that I have never heard of any attorney having to have an individual's social security number just to have a consultation. Mr. Cunningham continued to express his disrespect and unprofessionalism by demanding my social security number and hanging up the phone in my ear because I refused. Mr. Cunningham's secretary should tell potential clients when they schedule a free consultation that they have to provide their social security number before having the consultation whether you choose Mr. Cunningham as your attorney or not! I had no clue that I had to provide my social security number before having a free consultation with Mr. Cunningham to get answers to my questions!
