Have sent two kids here. Great teachers. Building is older but the district has been spending money to bring it back up to snuff. (The upper floors were closed years ago due to asbestos contamination. ) The building was originally built as a junior high school way back in the day. The playground reminds me of what you'd find at an inner city school, all wood chips and blacktop instead of grass. The school doesn't have as many extra activities (choir concerts, fall parties) as another elementary school we used to be at.

Classic old-fashioned neighborhood grade school! Many generations of children have gone here, including some of my cousins who were born and raised in Traverse City. Safe and walkable area, big playground that is open to kids even during the summer months.
