Oak Hill Cemetery drips local history. The people buried here helped carve our present-day Pontiac and surrounding communities. They were builders, dreamers, movers, and shakers. The factories in which our families work, the churches, the buildings down town; were all crafted by these courageous folks, who dared to be different. As a lifetime Pontiac native, I visited the cemetery today and found myself spellbound by rich history. It is true, the cemetery is in need of funds for upkeep and maintenance. Pontiac is not the wealthy city it used to be during times of automation, and I do know the cemetery is taking donations to address the repairs needed - especially for the plots/families that left no funds for allotted upkeep. But, if you are a history buff, you should check this place out.

I traveled all the way from Seattle to pay my respect and Honor the memories of my
family. ( the Lehman, Mason family's ) The Cemetery was in TERRIBLE CONDITION... I was extremely disappointed and disheartened. There was NO SIGNS of perpetual care.... Of any kind ! The city and/or the County need to step up and give this resting place for so many the attention and help that it needs. There is NO EXCUSE for this to be so neglected.
