My husband and I were unfortunately scammed by Chelsea Peruski. I am writing this review in hopes that it saves someone else from giving any information to these scammers

They deserve no stars unfortunately that is not an option. Chelsea Peruski is a person to avoid she will act like she is helping you all the while you are being scammed. She did my taxes in 2021 and 2022. With 2021 everything was fine but in 2022 She got me a refund that was significantly smaller than what i thought it should be. After taking her prepared tax documents which had already been submitted to other offices i found that the refund she got me was 1/10th of the refund I deserved and every other cpa said that they could have gotten me. Shortly after finding this out I received a letter from michigan department of treasury that my refund had been amended and I owed back most of the very small refund I had just received. Stating that I needed to show receipts for heating bills etc. Apon contacting Chelsea she acted as if she was going to help, however I was very wrong. She then sent an email stating that I would have to do it myself or pay her more money to do it for me. Every cpa I have called or been to their office has stated that that is completely erroneous that if that were the case then I should have filed the taxes myself. The entire point of using a cpa is to make sure you are covered in cases like this where you need someone to speak on your behalf in legal jargon to the government. A quote from Schultz tax & accounting " you provide the documents we do the paperwork that's what you pay for." Every cpa I talk to has told me that this is a scam and to stay away. When I called and asked Chelsea about this she stated "everyone charges for that, it's our policy" when I said "so your policy is to scam people" she said "I'm sorry you feel that way" classic scammer deflection line. Stay far away from these scammers.
After speaking with the michigan department of treasury I was told that when filing my taxes I applied for a refund that I am not applicable for and no matter the information I send proving my bills I will still owe my refund back. A cpa or someone who is paid to know the laws should know not to apply for a credit that their client doesnt qualify for. If I had filed the taxes and applied for a refund that I don't qualify for then that would be my fault. However I gave all of my information to Chelsea and she filed my taxes and applied for a tax credit that she should know as a cpa that I don't qualify for. She refuses to take responsibility for her actions. Absolutely terrible service please save yourself the headache I am going through go somewhere else.
