image Since 2014 our ANN Arbor house was rented and we moved to NJ. Before 2018 our community was managed by another company called MeadowManagement and everything went well, our NJ ADDRESS receive statement and payment book from them.
Since 2018 Casa Bella took over and never contact me by any means directly, no email, phone call or statement to me at all. And last month they suddenly hired attorney’s office, put lien on my house and sent the following accumulated bill to me.
If this company contact me or send me statement correctly even ONE time, none of these additional costs would accumulate.
I also do not understand why we are responsible for the full liability including lien fee and attorney fee, when apparently Casa Bella either didn’t make any effort of contacting their customers or they made lazy mistakes of not checking the house information at all.
Two very simple questions here:
1. If the previous management company can do it correctly, why can’t you?
2. Why don’t you wait even longer and hire the most expensive lawyer to collect debt, since all cost will be on your customer anyway, despite the fact that you never reach to your customer when they missed a payment?
This half a year payment do rely on proper statement and isn’t it your responsibility to contact your customer in this situation? Especially we are in NJ and have another house to take care of.
Are you able to provide proof that all your customer remember to pay their association fee without proper notice?
I will file complaint on BBB as well. I will also seek for legal help since this lien prevented me from listing my house, messed up our investment plan and caused a lot of financial damage.
