Had to wait until weekend to get an estimator to come out but gave no prior warning so wasn't avaliable. Another family member tried to pass on message unsuccessfully. After several days of expecting an email or mail proposal I sent an email inquiry and was advised that the cost estimate was sent by text. Advised them a land line does not receive text messages. Since there was no written proposal asked additional questions about scope of the work to which they scheduled another visit from estimator the following weekend. After rearranging my schedule to be available at their specified time range they failed to show up or even call to advise they were not coming as promised. They apparently were not interested in this residential driveway job or the second driveway job that was going to be offered. I'm sure there are other reputable companies interested in good recommendations throughout this large neighborhood and beyond.

Joseph Marini Asphalt did an amazing job to our install of our new circular driveway in 2020. We had them come back in 2021 for our driveway extension and our basketball court. Marini and the team was amazing and Melissa is the sweetest person ever to work with. Thank you Mr. Marini, your work is amazing and we get so many compliments on your work. We appreciate you and your team and your cute dog.

If i could give a half star i would, and that's only because they did answer the phone, but then lied to me 3 times about coming out to given an estimate for over a week and a half. When i called back again for the 4th time, she said find someone else if i didn't want to wait for their schedule, So i did, glad i did and you should too!!!

EDIT: They made it right!!! I’ve been in contact with Antoni (he reached out via email after seeing my review on Google) who is Joseph’s grandson and works in a separate office than the one we had been calling. He apologized profusely about the office not returning our calls. He runs the social media for the business and saw the reviews being posted. He spoke to us on the phone for 15+ minutes and was very kind, patient and knowledgeable as he addressed our concerns and answered our questions. We have come to a solution that I am very pleased with. I am grateful to Antoni for working hard to make this situation right.

Here is our experience with Joseph Marini Asphalt Paving:
Upon first contact we were told that Joseph would come by on the upcoming Sat/Sun to give us a quote. He didn’t show up that weekend, but he did unexpectedly show up the following Saturday. I happened to see him driving away as I walked outside, so I flagged him down and he turned around to come and chat with us. He told us that everyone else would just “come and spray water on it” but that his crew would “do it the hard way, the right way”. We agreed that some patching and sealing would help preserve the life of the crumbling asphalt situation that we had without having to redo the entire driveway. He gave us a fair quote, we agreed to hire him, and he said he would call the day before they came based on the weather. They arrived within 2 weeks and the 2 guys that were here working stayed and worked from about 9am-1pm.
When they were finished, it certainly looked better than it did before they started, but some things were confusing to us. Why did they only fill in 1/8+ holes? Why were the cracks not filled in? Was just the sealant going to prevent weeds from growing?
Within a couple of weeks, multiple spots started to crumble and grass began to grow between the cracks. Was this normal, to be expected for the level of work we chose to have done? We weren’t sure, so we called them to express our concerns and they said that Joseph would swing by to take a look.
When he came by, we tried to ask him specific questions like “why is only 1 hole filled in and the others aren’t”? and “why aren’t the cracks filled in?” And we truly could not get a straight answer. He continued to state that “they did it the hard way” and “it is sealed” and “looks great” and then eventually just kept responding to our questions with “if you aren’t happy I’ll send them back out to do more. I want ya to be happy!”. Ok, sure. He said he would call when the weather was good, like last time. I believe that was on May 8th.
Well, it’s been 3 weeks and they have completely gone MIA. They never showed up, they aren’t answering our calls or responding to the messages we are leaving them. We’ve called countless times in the past 2 weeks, all different hours of the day, leaving messages and our address each time. It’d be one thing if they just did the work and then went MIA. Fine, whatever, maybe we got what we paid for, who knows. But it’s even worse that the owner of the company came out to assess the work and told us to our face that he was going to send a crew to do more work and then completely went MIA. Wanted to warn others. Don’t hire this company.
