image A pretty good choice for service, but definitely trying to sell you on work. They are not fraudsters like some other places (felt like I needed to shower after the working with the Toyota dealer). I just think they might sell you a bit on work at the margins - god bless; they have a business and Bethesda is expensive, but I found another repair shop that I trust to shoot straight with me.

image This was my third time here, the first two times were great but the most recent was beyond terrible. I had a tire in my nail, which was found at a different mechanic. Thankfully I had the road hazard protection within the past year, so I could get it replaced here for free. I called, they said they had no availability until Tuesday (4 days later). I asked if there was another branch I could go to sooner, as I needed to be able to go out of state that day. He said no because I lived within 20 miles, they were so busy they may have to turn people away who already dropped their cars off, etc. Although frustrated I wouldn’t be able to use my car for several days which seemed to be a waste of the warranty, I understood they were just human.
Tuesday arrived, dropped my car off at 9AM as they requested, signed the quote saying $0 (woohoo!), all they said was that it would be ready at some point in the afternoon. Around 3 I called, my car was still 2nd in queue (don’t know why I had to drop it off early but no big deal). An hour later, they called saying my key was stuck in the ignition and asked how to remove it. I’ve never had an issue with it, although sometimes need to put a bit of muscle into it. I explained that to them, they couldn’t get it out and asked me to come. Shortly after, I got another call saying they didn’t have my tire in stock and they need to order one to be delivered tomorrow. Okay, so you’re telling me that I made my appointment Saturday, my tire type was in your system, and I made it very clear that I needed a new one and to not just be plugged based on what a mechanic said.
Anyway, left work early, got to the shop, removed my key right away and asked to speak to a manager. I asked why I had to come when my key came out right away and why they didn’t have my tire when my car had been there a whole day and appointment made since Saturday. He said I had to come because they couldn’t get it out (still crazy to me) and they didn’t want to “order a tire just to order it and pay a restocking fee”, again even though I made it clear I needed a tire. I pulled my car out of the garage, windows were down, and heard the manager extensively lecturing a worker about watching me back out to make sure I didn’t hit anything. The worker looked at me, mouthed “you’re fine”. Thank you sir, I know. If I wasn’t a young woman your manager would not have said that.
Next day I came to pick it up. They said it’ll be $37 on the phone, even though I signed for $0. When I got there, there’s a law posted about things being $25 or more than the quote, they must notify the customer. They told me it was for labor, which I politely suggested they explain that to all customers to know that they will have to pay something. They said they do, even though they said nothing to me. They asked if I want the warranty, I said no because it’s been a bad experience, and the manager simply walked away.
At least I have my car back and never have to go again.
