Emmanuel Episcopal Church has a prolific and studied rector in the person of Dr. Mark Gatza. His Sunday morning sermons and homilies exhibit a depth of understanding and familiarity with the scriptures that go beyond the sometimes mechanical presentations you get at other churches or homilies that quickly diverge to personal anecdotes and fail to achieve a strong focus on the scriptures. Gatza creates a meditative environment with his learned and personal approach, and you leave church feeling you've been affected and wanting more, as opposed to being relieved to return to your day. The congregation is extremely friendly and their warmth emanates in their personal greetings and smiles. The church itself is beautiful, quaint, and the perfect size for the community it serves. The big red door is a welcoming sight on Sunday mornings. I enjoin you to visit if you are looking for a home where you can be edified and moved in your own spiritual journey.
