Dropped by this morning and discovered, much to my surprise, that this dinner is closed and up for sale. It's too bad because it was a good place to eat.

My first visit, I sat at the counter by the kitchen window to see the dishes as they were picked up by the wait staff. The kitchen staff were busting butt to get orders out, the restaurant was about 3/4 full. The orders I observed were portioned well and appealing to my eye.
I ordered Hash Benedict with half a side of beans & half home fries. I did not time the wait but it was roughly 15 to 20 minutes from ordering to when my meal arrived.
Cons: The eggs were slightly over cooked, the holidays sauce was mild (I suspect from a jar), and the beans seemed to me, to be from a can and just warmed up, likewise with hash.
Pros: Despite the Cons, my meal was delicious, ample, and reasonably priced.
Side note: I struck up a conversation with a gentlemen sitting at the counter beside me. He told me he had been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. He also mentioned there has been a owner/management change in the past few months and Charlie's Diner would change names to "Nita's Diner" (sign out front) in the near future.
Over all: This is a no frills eatery, and what I expected as a diner. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Excellent Diner atmosphere, homey with a lot of repeat business.
I will most definitely return and recommend this establishment as an excellent diner.
