Becky's must be in many tourist guides. There is always a line to get it. It has a down home atmosphere. The wait staff is nice but very busy. The food is good. Some dishes better than others. I like the baked fish. The desserts are delicious. I am now gluten free so I can't eat them, which is hard. I love a good piece of pie. That fact that it is on Commercial Street, on the water, makes it very appealing for a visitor to Portland. It has a large choice of food and opens at 4AM. The plants in the window and the odd ceramic curtains makes it memorable. The counter attracts locals, especially if you are alone. I sometimes go for breakfast by myself. The oatmeal is hearty; helping so big I can never finish it. I suppose Becky's is very Maine.7
