I am trying to return or get the Quilted Sunbrella Hammock fixed since it is rusted through and I can not resemble it. I sent pictures to the return department and this was the response from Mona:
Our returns department reviewed the photos. It appears that the hammock was left out in the weather for a long period of time. The condition is not from a defect, just from weather. We would not accept this as a return.
If you are considering purchasing a hammock with Sun in the name make sure you don't leave the outside hammock outside or L.L. Bean will not stand behind it. It sounds like in order for L.L. Bean to stand behind it, you will need to probably dissemble the hammock when you think it might rain, bring it inside (warning, with the stand it is quite heavy) and when you see the sun out again, reassemble it and put it back outside. Repeat whenever there might be weather in the area.
While on the phone with customer service, they were rather rude and not very accommodating.
L.L. Bean has not been the same since 2018.
Per your response, can you please share with me and others what special conditions were not met? I think people deserve to know before they purchase one of your products, not afterwards, when they are unusable.
