My husband had his upper teeth removed and a denture inserted at Twin City Dental in Bangor, Maine. Prior to this procedure he had a consultation, at which time we were quoted the cost and received a break down of what that cost would be. This was expected to be paid in full at the time of service. Our insurance was billed their portion and we paid the total amount expected. The denture to this day has never fit properly and actually falls out of his mouth. Thankful for, ” Fixodent.” After many failed adjustments it was determined that they would need to make him a new denture. We were told at that time that he would have to pay $1000.00+ for the new denture, which was apparently an error on their part, as the denture never fit properly. When we questioned the $1000+ that they requested, we were told, “We looked at the original quote and realized that the staff member made a $1000.00 error and this is actually what you’ll need to pay before we can fit him for a new denture.” Well, I was livid and called to speak with a manager, I told this person; “This is totally unacceptable, you quoted us a price and we agreed on the price and paid what was expected. Please, ask Dr. King; “If she went and bought a new car and was quoted a price to buy it, which she agreed upon and paid in full for, but when she went to have it serviced multiple times for a problem with it and they wouldn’t fix it unless she paid $1000.00+ because their sales person made a mistake on the original quoted price. Would she pay?”
A week or so later, we received a bill for, not the $1000+ but a few hundred dollars that they figured somehow we owed, even though at the time of service we were told our bill was paid in full. Some people might think we’re crazy, but we weren’t going to continue this battle and paid the bill. They made my husband a new denture, but it is WORSE than the first! He can’t even wear it! Now he has two dentures that don’t fit! I don’t understand first of all, how Dr. King can live with herself treating honest people so poorly? Secondly, how have they stayed in business? We’ve driven past the facility and have seen a person at his van, with a sign stating something to the effect of how unfair and dishonest Twin City Dental is, ( ICan’t remember the exact words but we saw this with our own eyes, and I am explaining this, just to show that apparently we are not the only people treated unfairly, I personally would even saw harmed by Twin City Dental in Bangor, Maine.

A month ago I had a full set of dentures made at Twin City Dental, my very first visit to them.
Dr. King Was excellent in her work and professionalism. This was my 3rd set of dentures and I had high expectations because my others wore out and my denturist turned passed away.
They took my impressions and had my wax set in 2 weeks and made more adjustments. They were quick to make my permanent sets and got me in one last between patients and adjusted one spot.
Directly after the appointment I went out to lunch and had corn on the cob !!! My final thoughts are :
Very natural color match (many compliments).
Recommend Twin City Dental highly, very friendly people.
PS: insurance companies should not reflect on these people fine work.

My husband found this office to be very helpful. He needs extensive dental work, and Dr. King was willing to discuss all options with him, with treatments ranging from $2,000-$20,000. We found the honesty refreshing, as she was open about the fact that he could have what he needed done for $2,000 or so. We have recommended other friends and family to the office as well.

Was on a wait list for three months. Got called to set up to be a new patient and my appt was booked for a month later. The day before, they verified my appointment, and then a few hours later told me they needed to cancel and were no longer taking new patients. After calling back to try and get my appointment back I figured why would I want to go to a place like this. Save your time and go someplace else.

Every procedure they have performed has been abysmal and failed prematurely....the only thing they did successfully was a simple filling which they didnt even color match right and left a sharp edge....after the thousands i gave them and having to spend 10 grand to have proper dentists fix their shoddy work i realized they sent me to collections for a few hundred dollars i allegedly owe after i went for a loan...effed me for 10 grand and ruined my credit...shouldve listened to the other people who said not to go there....

If you are thinking about going to this dentist because they are in network with your insurance.. dont! Mike and his hot head (the finance manager) is awful to deal with. he will threaten to send you to collections for money you don't owe. This practice has the idea that it is okay to bill their patients the difference of what the CONTRACTED rate is, for an in network provider. The office also doesnt tell you when you have a balance, instead they send you a letter in the mail saying you're about to be sent to collections.(for money they should not get since they're in network). When you bring to their attention that theyre in network and the insurance company also calls to explain that they can't bill for the difference. Mike decides he is done with you and tells you to find another dentist office. He cleared my bill in the end, which they should have done anyway. Anything over the contracted rate for an in network provider is supposed to be written off by the company.
If you do have issues with this, make sure to show up in person as Mike will hang up the phone on you.
Dr King seems to be a good dentist, but she went right along with Mikes bipolar attitudes. If Dr King is the owner, then she should be making these calls. Not hot head Mike.
