I got hired as the property manager in Arcadia, LA. When I got to the property at 7:55 am, there was no one there. Another PM was going to train me and give me the keys for the property. I called the Regional Manager and she assured me that the other manager would be there. I waited a few minutes and the RM called me back and apologized because she forgot to tell the other manager that I would be there ready for her to train me. The RM told me to go on and get me a donut and wait for her. She said it would be about an hour before the other manager would get there. I had no way of clocking in or filling out any paperwork until I got inside. After I ate breakfast, I went back to the property and there was still no one there. I left again and went to the nearby mall to look around. An hour had passed and still no manager. I stayed there until 9:30 am and I decided to leave and go to the regional office in Ruston. I called the RM and she said her office was not in Ruston and I informed her that I would not be moving forward in the PM position. First of all, they didnt give me the hourly amount I had asked for. I have property management experience and a Masters degree and they also said that I never showed up for the training that day. Im so glad that I didnt go forward with this company because it says a lot about their integrity, morals, and professionalism when you try to lowball employees that are overly qualified and then lie on them and say they never showed up the first day of training.
