image It's hard to put into words the impact that Becker Law - namely Kate Dunnington, Greg Bubalo and Joel Zimmerman - have had on my family and I. When you lose everything in the world that matters most to you, it is soul-crushing. I was in a state of sheer devastation and shock after all five of my family members were killed instantly at the hands of a drunk driver in 2019, in Lexington, KY. Kate, Greg and their team were a light where only darkness was left. They provided support and guidance when we didn't know what to do, or where to turn. From the onset of our case, they informed us of what to expect, shared that the road would not be easy, but also provided us with the reassurance that they would get us the justice we were seeking. When I shared with them that the closest thing to justice for us would be shutting down the business operations of those responsible for over-serving the wrong-way drunk driver who hit my family head-on, they didn't flinch. They never told us that no precedence existed for such a goal and, therefore, doing so was not possible. They understood our desire to file suit was not driven monetarily. We were seeking to put an end to what was clear and ongoing negligence by a particular business, and to send a message to other alcoholic establishments to re-examine their own business practices. From day one, it was clear that, while winnable, our fight would not be easy. The guidance we were given was to push the lawsuit into a corner of our lives and to let the firm manage the chaos. Our suit lasted over four and a half years. The battle was brutal. Kate, Greg, Joel, and the rest of the team took every blow, and blew right back. They fought for our family like they were fighting for their own, never relenting, never holding back, never accepting anything less than what we were demanding, because they understood that nothing we could demand could ever make any of it okay. And when it was all said and done, they did exactly as they had promised - something that had never been done before and what others said they could never do - they (we) shut down the business operations, indefinitely, of the bar that knowingly and negligently over-served the man who ultimately killed himself and all five of my family members. Nothing in the world can ever give to us what was lost in 2019, but Becker Law helped give us some peace and justice, which is everything in the face of the little we have left. It is an honor to know them and a privilege to have them in your corner.

image I requested the Becker Law Office and they said there was no department there for my case, so my wife posted a review of our experience. They offered to take the case if she changed her review. She then changed the review and the case was taken. They were so slow to react that its been almost a year to the day since it happened. They then call to tell me we shouldn't pursue the case further. Missing from the records of their findings were 21 days at another hospital. We have less than a week before the statue of limitations to find another lawyer. Being told i cant win this case isn't the upsetting issue. The upsetting part is waiting till we have little to no time left to tell us this. John Slack & Greg Bubalo were the attorneys that we worked with.
In short don't trust these people , it even seems as if they work against you. I say this because of how poorly i was treated.

The statement you made above, that your husband only has "4 days" is false. He only has 4 days if you both fail to act and accept our offer.You stated concerning your first contact with us, that someone told you: " there was no department [at Becker] for medical neglect... ." However, no one in our intake department remembers telling you that. Indeed, I have been involved in 100’s of malpractice cases in Kentucky and other states, and I know what it takes to win. Because of my experience, we have a very in-depth investigative process. This helps us ensure that we are providing quality legal services to our clients and assures they have the best chance of winning. Importantly, it also assures that we do not file cases without merit. My conclusion is that you simply misunderstood what you were told.We have represented you for approximately 8 months. As part of our investigation, we obtained medical records and had those records evaluated by medical professionals. Unfortunately, during Covid, the Hospital you wanted to sue, did not promptly respond to our requests for records. This was typical during Covid. You were involved in our efforts to obtain the medical records and you know what happened and you know it had nothing to do with our delay. We have documentation of how you were informed about this and how you were involved. In fact, we asked you to try to obtain the records, because the Hospital was ignoring us. We worked to obtain the records together. So, your statement: "they put off for so long..." is not true.Despite this delay, we were able to complete our investigation and discuss our findings with you. We spent many hours reviewing medical records and finding an ER Expert Witness. We offered to allow you to talk to the ER Doctor Expert Witness, which he was willing to do. You declined to talk to him. This is truly a mystery. Why would you decline to discuss the case with a highly qualified expert? And we did not charge you a dime for working for free for 8 months, obtaining medical records, reviewing them, obtaining expert opinions, and drafting a Complaint, ready to go.You stated that we called you to tell you that, "my husband ... cant [sic] pursue the case further. in Ky, statue [sic] of limitations we had 4 business days to talk to another lawyer... ." Again, this is simply not true and you know it because we spoke about this. We detailed how we could help and give you extra time to find a lawyer to replace us; therefore, there is still time to move forward if you find someone to represent you. However, this also assumes you can find an ER Doctor Expert Witness who will support your case, a nurse who will support your case and a lawyer who will take your case.Finally, you attacked me personally. Despite that, we are still willing to help find another lawyer and preserve any rights you think you may have. Of course, we have already declined to prosecute your claims against the Hospital you wanted to sue; however, maybe if you find a different lawyer, s/he can offer you another perspective or opinion.

image Years ago, Becker law office helped my grandmother in a case. She was shown empathy, understanding, and was absolutely taken care of by her attorneys. Since then times have changed. i requested them and they said there was no department there for medical neglect, then i put a review since it was showing on the internet that they took those cases, they offered to take the case if i changed my review. i changed my review, they did look into the case and obtain most of his medical records, however they put off for so long that its been almost a year to the day since it happened, and call to tell my husband they cant pursue the case further. in Ky, statue of limitations we had 4 business days to talk to another lawyer and have them start the case, they did not include all the records on their finding as 21 days were at another hospital that was missing from their records. Greg Bubalo has years of experience but due to this(in my opinion) his lack of empathy for people makes it not worth the process.
