image This is the 3rd time Nelson county EMS has had to come to our home to see to my 93 yr old mom. Let me just say, they have always been friendly, gentle, and handled mom with such kindness and care! Kept her calm and relaxed. Thank you for your services

image Came darting behind me on 65S at 95+mph not running lights at 2:30 am. Youre supposed to save lives not take them away. It takes a fully loaded bus 2.3x the time it takes a car to brake. Operate correctly. There are rules and codes in place for a reason and the county name is on the side of your bus.

image I understand stress and tiredness affects people. I try to give grace, & I appreciate having an EMS to call on, but I have never, anywhere in the country, encountered a team as rude and inept as the one who responded to a call Saturday, 1/7/23. My brother and niece are EMTs so we are familiar with "the drill" - there's no need for THREE people to stand around wasting precious minutes when only one is needed to start an IV - which they couldn't do. IF YOU CAN'T START ONE, GET THE PATIENT TO SOMEBODY WHO CAN, ASAP!!! If it's just the policy of NCEMS to not roll until there's an IV started, something needs to CHANGE.
This team could also benefit from some counseling on communicating with concerned family members. One EMT actually slammed the ambulance door in my face when I knocked to see why they were STILL sitting at the curb after they'd had the patient in the vehicle for over10 minutes.
There's so much more, but it's sufficient to say I hope this was just a bad night and not the norm.

image These people have caused me tremendous stress and emotional trauma! Last year my appendix went bad. Had to call EMS. They asked if I had insurance on the ride and I said yes. I have medicare AND Medicaid full coverage. But Nelson EMS keeps sending me a $1000 bill and refuse to try to charge my insurance! Now I've received dept collection letters! WHY WON'T THEY USE MY INSURANCE?! WHAT sick game are they playing?! I'm probably going to have to file lawsuits because I already have self mutilation urges and this sick game is making my mental health WORSE!
Next time I have a medical emergency I'm just going to let myself die.
Update; I believe the issue is resolved. I went there in person after my friend called and found out the debt collector letters were real. Had them scan ALL my insurance cards. We went in person. I was on the verge of an anxiety break down, yet I was still very polite. Yet, the woman at the desk had a very bad attitude and was rude. She said I gave the wrong insurance card like she was there. I gave ALL my insurance cards when I was taken for my appendix going bad after enduring the pain for 6hrs on the floor. I don't know what she was sour about but it was wrong to take it out on me. I already almost died a few times from the appendix and the following massive infection.
