My first review was over dispute about the price, I ended up booking here anyway to stay with family I have stayed at many Hampton Inns, this was by far the WORST. I have listed the pros/cons below as it got lengthy.
Cons
• Given the wrong room upon check in & had to return to front desk to fix immediately
• dirty sheets on fold out couch when we checked in
• broken shower drain
• had to pull very hard to shut hotel room door or it stayed slightly open
• lobby table corners are sharp enough to & did cut skin
• Ran out of many breakfast items & served spoiled fruit
• No cookies or dessert offered at all
• Pool area is lacking & hot tub is really only big enough for 2-3 people
• No outside trash cans near vehicle parking
• a "secure" side door from stairs leading outside was found open on numerous occasions
• I was charged for two rooms instead of one
Pros
• comfortable beds
• A/C & Fridge works great
When we arrived they had given us the wrong room, we were supposed to have a King bed W/ pull out couch. Front desk got us a new room. We unfolded the couch to find dirty sheets & a sock from a previous occupant. Once you find dirty sheets you tend to question the cleanliness of the entire room. Upon a clorox wipe down of surfaces (which I do in every hotel I stay) my wipes were dirty. See pic attached. This is the first time I’ve stayed at a Hampton Inn & had dirt on my clorox wipe after cleaning the surfaces. Shower drain plug will not stay open. I get out & had to find SOMETHING to hold the drain open while still allowing the water to drain. I was able to improvise & use a plastic coffee thing from the bathroom sink by the coffee pot (see attached pic). This worked but it’s annoying to keep shoving it in there as we showered. Most hotel doors close on their own when you leave the room. Not ours. We had to pull the door every time. We had family/friends join us in the lobby & as we are eating one of our friends cut his arm on the corner of the long table in the lobby. He was BLEEDING. The table where my kids are eating had such sharp corners it cut an adults arm. How does that even happen? The front desk attendant covered the corners with TAPE. Breakfast was OK. On Sunday the pineapple they put out was bad. They ran out of apple juice, asked to refill, never happened. The orange juice tasted weird. The pool area is OK. The hot tub was a joke. It said max 6 people. 3 was too many & it was too hot because the timer was stuck always on. There are NO trash cans outside the side or back doors. There is a door that exits the building from the rear stair well. Most of the time it was left ajar, I had to laugh at this seeing as the door right next to it required a card & both got you in the hotel. Hampton Inn charged our credit card with our room & my sister's room. We had one charge for $274 & another for $306. Her hotel room was booked the day before us by phone using HER CREDIT CARD. Our room was booked the next evening by internet with OUR CREDIT CARD. WHY? I can only assume it is because we have the same last name. So now, it’s Thursday, 6/7 & my CC statement closes today. I was told that the manager was gone so there was no way to reverse the charge until the next day. We were very upset & thought maybe we should just dispute it with the credit card company & asked why they couldn't contact someone at corporate. Later we were told they got in touch with someone who could reverse it & it would be reversed that day (again 6/7). When the credit for the $274 finally appeared on my credit card statement on Tuesday 6/12 it was dated 6/8 which shows me they didn’t get it done on 6/7 as promised. This upsets me because I had to pay off that credit card balance before I was reimbursed. It is also upsetting because this NEVER should have happened since our card was not listed for my sister’s room at all.
I will never stay at this hotel again. Next time I am in Muscatine, I’m booking the Best Western.

Wish I was able to give this place 0 stars. I stayed here for two days, was given two rooms and 1 of the 2 rooms had bed bugs. My family has left with so many bites, this is so disgusting and not only that but when I called to complain regarding the issue, the hotel staff was already aware of the issue of them having bed bugs saying that this isn’t the the first complaint that they’ve had from guests. As an establishment you should be well kept and cleaned. All for all I’m getting a refund. If you plan on staying here PLEASE check for bed bugs.

Was told when called for reservations that the pool was open and that there would be a free hot continental breakfast. Neither of them was true and I even booked thru the phone number on their website. Very disappointed.
