I travel for work, to the tune of 340(that's three hundred and forty) nights in hotels in the last year. Everything from no tell motels in the bad parts of town to four stars. And I have NEVER had an experience as bad as the staff at this supposed three star Establishment. NEVER. I use clc for my hotel stays. This evening I discovered that I had inadvertently left my card at the place I stayed the night before. The clerk assured me that there were plenty of rooms avalible, while I was getting thier fax number to have a copy of the card sent to me. The clerk said that that wasn't sufficient, that he needed approval directly from clc, because there was problem with fraud( condescending voice) with you people using clc. No problem, do you have clc's phone number? No, have a nice night. He then turned his back on me and started walking out the side door. I told them politely and firmly that he was being rude. He responded " I take everything with a grain of salt" and continued out the door. I asked if he was refusing me, be said he was if I didn't have a clc authorization as he was walking out the door. I returned to my still waiting cab, called ANOTHER hotel, and was instantly given the phone number that this clerk didn't seem to have( in spite of clc being a major direct billing company). I called clc, who quickly sent the necessary information to the hotel. I walked back in to the lobby where the clerk had returned to the desk. I told him I had clc on the phone, and the first words out of this man's mouth was that he was refusing me. I asked why, and he wouldn't respond. All he said was "the numbers on the card" as he once again turned his back on me and retreated iut the side door again.The clc operator heard this, and began instantly filing a report on this property, although I didn't ask her to. While I was discussing it with her in the parking lot, and arranging to be taken to the Clarion by the cab, the clerk came back to the desk, pulled out a phone, and made a show of dialing 911....it was obvious enough that the cab driver saw what he was doing from out in the parking lot. I never so much as raised my voice or said a cross word, other than telling this guy he was being rude. Meanwhile, he had the clc authorization he was asking for on his computer! After I left, I called the hotel to make sure that they didn't process the room charges, and before I could even say anything more than my name, this guy blurted out that he was out of clc rooms, and sold out completely in fact....in ten minutes, must have been a major rush, there is no other possible explanation for being treated like this from a place that should excel at customer service.
In short, I'm seriously offended at the connotation that I was trying to commit fraud. That in itself is bad enough. But to be shown such disrespect, and finally having this guy go as far as to pretend calling the cops, for absolutely no reason, is beyond the pale. I'm going to assume that the clerk was just embarrassed at finding out that I was in fact a legitimate customer, with the billing company on the phone, after his comments about fraud.
But its still horrific customer service, whatever his reasons were. I have a long list of hotels I can stay at, so guess which chain I will no longer be using......and I'm not a casual customer going on vacation once a year. About a quarter of rooms ive used this year were BW. And this one incident has turned me off from using them. I don't need to be looked down on from some guy who thinks he's a general manager from some high end New York City hotel.

Ahhhh yes. The Tom. I stayed here 3 days before I interacted with Tom, the tall slender guy everyone has commented on. I also read the reviews before I went and low and behold, Tom is an absolute waste of space in that place. How can you be so rude and condescending and still have a job???? I don't get it!!! He's still there!!!!! The older blonde lady in the bar with too much makeup on and a German(possibly) accent was about as bad. I ate there several times before she got there and everyone was great, however I ordered my food to go from her because I'd rather go across the street for cocktails than have to deal with her. Best Western, you have clearly ignored these reviews about The Tom because he is still there and still a rude joker. I travel over 200 nights a year in a hotel. I have taken best western out of my travels now for good. Find another spot folks, not worth it.

Their breakfast is great and priced well. I have been here a few times and the service is okay, today we only saw our server to take our order, drop off the food, and to give us our check. We needed refills but never got any. The server was the only server for the whole dinning room and had someone get drink orders when sat. Not very happy with our visit today. Not sure if we will be back any time soon, please get another server on for the mornings.
