I've had Gerald for going on 8 years now and the service has been pretty good, until this past year. Apparently he has gotten older and isn't as "hungry" anymore to help his clients out. I have battled State Farm's incompetence in two different areas, one with a good turnout, the other is a disaster and makes me loathe State Farm in general.
1) I got a new car and called Gerald with my VIN and he updated my information. I get an updated statement in the mail and I pay the difference. I get new cards, and everything is fine. Then I get a letter stating that due to "nonpayment" of funds they are canceling my insurance on my new car. WTF? Then I have to call Gerald, and I don't get a call back yet mysteriously get a NEW insurance card in the mail a week later.
2) We had a massive storm do damage to our window 2 years ago. State Farm covered only fixing the ceiling inside and refused to actually fix the window that had the problem. When asked what we should do if this happened again, I was told "file another claim, I don't care." by the adjuster.
Sure enough, 2 years later we had the exact same thing happen and State Farm this time flat out denies the claim stating "our coverage doesn't pertain to the type of damage we experienced." WTF? You don't even fix it the first time, yet the second time it's not covered?
I've called Gerald roughly 6-8 times over the past few months and haven't ever gotten a call back regarding anything. He didn't even have the balls to respond to my inquiry about my claim being denied, the contractor had to call me.
I would stay as far away from Gerald and State Farm as possible, try Farm Bureau instead. I'm going to hit them up for a quote in the next week as I'm done with State Farm and Gerald Gray.

I feel it necessary to respond to critical, negative and false review regarding my business practices. Anyone wanting to do business with me should contact the Better Business Bureau where I have an A+ rating or the Indiana Dept of Insurance where I have never received any complaints.
