The shop is ran by an individual who has been there for 34 year's but will put your well being and safety at risk daily. He will tell you to hold the blasting hose with one hand or over your shoulder. I've been in this field for 14 year's and those 2 SPECIFICALLY have been HUGE no-no's because of the serious injuries that could occur. He and other's in the shop will also walk by the blast booth while an individual is working and turn the air pressure up 10-20lbs, which is SEVERELY DANGEROUS, although the work order states what psi the job is to be done at. Supervisor will claim they're OSHA regulated and up to standards yet have no safety protocols in place nor are they accessible to employees. Their booth blast area as well as their cabinet blaster have holes and aren't sealed properly allowing hazardous materials to become airborne. OSHA mandates that employees have access to SDS sheets at ALL times and only a handful of employee's actually knew what I was asking for. Here you have to ask the supervisor and even then you still WILL NOT see it. I had to work 5 weeks with a 10lb helmet with an air regulator HANGING from it because it didn't have the safety belt. It had caused me a lot of neck and back issues and I had to go over this Supervisor to get anything done because he told me to go back to work. The same Supervisor will tell you your shift is from 6-330 m-th and 6-11on Friday's but will tell you that YOU aren't being a "team player" although you have overtime on your week and show up early everyday as you watched other employees work 7-330 m-f. They have work orders that have specific instructions for the parts being worked that are neglected as well as processes that are skipped. Several time's in 2 months I had to do someone else's job (but not a "team player"). When job's are behind you better believe that it's not because of his poor planning management and setup. A manager who can't accept fault??? It's upsetting that I have to even write this because this individual doesn't represent everyone else within the company. If Keco can't understand why they have such high turnover this should help.
