I did not have a great experience here. I would not recommend this office. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the ladies up front were so sweet and accommodating! If it weren't for them, and the fact that my wisdom teeth were successfully removed, I would give this a 1 star rating. Dr. Falender and his assistant do not have the greatest "bedside" manners.
I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed on a Friday. My appointment was at 11:45am and arrived around 11:30. They did not call me back until 12:20. By the time I was taken back and in the chair, it was aprox. 12:25 and took at least 5-10 minutes for them to get me prepped and my IV started. By 1:00 pm They were wheeling me out in a wheelchair to the vehicle where my husband was waiting. My husband said I was not even able to stand and that he had to physically pick me up and put me in the vehicle, when he did I fell back onto the armrest. I could not even sit up on my own! He had to lift me, turn me, pull my legs up into the vehicle, lay the seat back and buckle me in to be positioned safely. I do not remember any of this because I had IV sedation. The woman who brought me out did not offer to help my husband, who was trying to process the state I was in, and only told him that I could have my first dose of ibuprofen within 30 minutes of getting home, then she left. She did not go over any post-op instructions or ask if I had any questions.. Later that evening, I had vomited and my incisions started bleeding. Being very concerned, I called the answering service and they got me in touch with Dr. Falender within 15 minutes. When explaining to him what happened he seemed extremely irritated. He asked what I had eaten and when some things I had mentioned were dairy, he got angry and said "I told you at the consultation no dairy for the first 24 hours! Did you read paper they gave you?!" Which he did not tell me. During my consultation, all he said on the matter was they recommend food like a non-dairy smoothie in the first 24 hours. No explanation as to why. It would be more helpful to leave no room for error or guesswork on the instruction paper. The nice lady who brought the post op packet out to my husband while I was in surgery briefly said dairy isn't recommended, but again, no explanation as to why. On the post op instructions there is nothing stating to avoid dairy, in fact it tells you to drink lots of liquid, such as"fruit juice, MILK, soft drinks, etc." Also they do not give follow up appointments. At least they didn't for me. I had all 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed, 2 of which were impacted. You would think they would do a follow up. Their office closes at 1pm on Friday, which may explain why they were in a hurry to get me out of there. If you want to feel like you're cared for, go somewhere else.
