This time was just a recall however when my car was new I was having transmission problems and I brought it several times with the same problem and was never fixed. I was told that my transmission was normal, but one of my students had the same exact car and her transmission was doing the downshifting normally and mine instead of downshifting and lowering revolutions per minute it will increase them. It has been always very difficult for the brake pedal to come to a stop because it fights the transmission rpms
