Cliff with River City is a absolute crook. He inspected our septic on a home that was a brand new built spec home and passed the inspection. Four years later we went to sell the home, Cliff failed the septic inspection and said the septic was too small for the house and it needed 15,000 worth of fixes. The house never changed in the four years we lived there. Would stay away from this company! Realtors do your clients a favor and do not use this company!

Charged $80 for a 10 minute stop by to determine my tank was full enough to be pumped. Weeks later was able to get that accomplished. Arriving home the day of service the alarm was on. Was told to shut off the pump then on and should be fine. That did not correct it. Reached out by emails, no reply. Phone calls finally got through to the answer of, we currently don't have any manpower, our service guy insured the pump worked fine, we suggest you go elsewhere b/c we don't have time for you. Perfect. THANKFULLY I found J & L Septic in Wyoming, IL. They came the next day, determined the pump was in fact not working at all and needed replaced. Also noticed the filter was never changed at any servicing, nor was the tank sealed down properly. One week later, new septic pump, filter, proper housing unit, sealed down lid and complimentary roots dug out around where it was comprising the tank. I get they are busy, but to pay for services & not have things working properly only to be told, sorry not sorry.. horrible customer service. Services: Outdoor plumbing system repair, Sewer repair

Tried using River City Septic and Excavating for a septic inspection for the home buying process. We were told that they would be able to get to us in a few days and asked for a payment. A week and a half goes by and they keep putting us off saying the inspector doesn't know his schedule for the next few days. Call again and demand to get on the schedule because we are a few days away from closing. They jerked us around the entire process but was more than happy to take our payment. They will avoid your calls at all cost once they get payment from you.
