Avoid Tom. Me and my wife are looking to buy a home. We understand that the market is volatile and homes can sell in an instant. After using realtor.com app we were referred to Tom. Tom from the moment from our first interaction (as I have had time to reflect) was unprofessional. His first call was from him being in his car. He said he would email me a confirmation that the home we wanted to look once he got back into the office. Unproductive but maybe he was working on the go. I get it. He could have just called when he was in the office to tell me that. So after driving 2ish hours to come to my appointment. I get a call from Tom. 2 minutes before our scheduled time I get a phone call from him. He informs me that the home is under contract and that he cannot show us the place and before I can reply he hangs up the phone. I call him back. I give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe the call dropped. He then tells me he just found out this morning that the home was under contract. My appointment was in the afternoon. The he tells me he could only tell me as soon as he knew. We are sitting in front of place at this point and I can clearly hear what appears to be other people and/or office noises in the background on his end of the phone. So even if he had just found out the house was under contract he wasn't even planning to come to show us the home. And during the conversation after expressing that this was frustrating to me. He proceeds to tell me how "everyone is frustrated with the market" as if he was working for us and then asked us if we wanted to look at something else. OF COURSE NOT! You aren't here for our current appointment. WHY WOULD WE WANT TO LOOK AT SOMETHING ELSE WITH YOU AT A MOMENTS NOTICE? Maybe because he's selling so many homes right now he can't be bothered to be professional. Good for him.
