I rented a unit in one of Malet's buildings for several years, and it was a generally pleasant experience. The staff at their main office were usually friendly and helpful, and they agreed to some accommodations to my lease that I requested. The building was no-frills, but rent was reasonable, and they generally kept things well maintained and presentable. My only notable complaint about them was that they went through several property managers and maintenance staff during my time in the building. After I moved out, I received my security deposit in a timely manner without needing to follow up, which I appreciated.

Worst company i have ever encountered. You have to actually try to be this bad.

When I moved in, my apartment had not been rekeyed. For the first full day, I had no lock on the apartment. Then it took 3 days before getting the actual lock. I had a massive hole in my door during that time that I had to cover with paper. That should have been the first sign that there would be issues. Response time from Yazmin, the property manager, was absolutely ridiculous. I would have to call and email in order to get anything done. She wouldn’t give clear answers. My car was broken into and the window was smashed in. I called to see if they could look for video to see if we could find the person. I had to call multiple times to figure out if they found anything. No response. I ended up emailing. Then finally got a BS response. The intercom system never worked for my apartment. I could never buzz anyone in which was an inconvenience. Nobody meets you at the apartment when you move in. I had no idea we had a package room or storage until a few weeks after moving in. Malet doesn’t care about you. They just care about getting your rent money.
