My loved one recently went to the Lodge for rehab. The second day upon a visit, there were some major concerns about his health that were dismissed by the doctor and nurse. We were reassured he was ok. When I arrived he was impaired confused, couldn't raise his arms equally, could not eat with his left and dominant hand, he was covered in urine, and disoriented. None of these issues were part of his admission for rehab. The next morning our family tried to visit to check on him at 815 before work. We were not allowed to see him. At 1015 we got a call he had fallen and was being sent to the hospital. At the hospital, it was confirmed he had major stokes during the past 24-36 hour period. He is now disabled and working hard to regain function on his left side. He has a long road ahead. If the doctor and nurses had not dismissed our concerns and taken the BE FAST stroke protocol seriously, my loved one could have gotten the early stroke protocol and had less damage to his body. The Lodge used to be a wonderful place. They took great care of another loved one when they opened. Now, there are a few caring techs, but most of the staff is not the high quality caregivers you hope for your loved one. My loved ones life is forever be changed due to their lack of care, concern, empathy, and action.
