I've had service from a physical therapist before. I'm a very strong advocate of physical therapy when some portion of your body is not functioning as it should. Mine was due to a hip replacement surgery, and the physical therapy was helpful both before the surgery (we called it "prehab") and after.
I had my surgery six weeks ago, and I'm finishing up my physical therapy this week with Devon Burgess of Physiotherapy in Duluth, Georgia. Devon is a young guy who seems to know a lot about the human body. He has engaged with me with a maturity that is much more mature, I think, than his age. Not only is he competent, he is very dedicated to serving me well. How do I know? He listens and responds not only to my questions but also my preferences. His explanations make sense to me, and he recalls my vision and preferred approaches for my therapy from visit to visit. Devon has not attempted to supercede my vision of my recovery with his. He acknowledges my awareness of my body, then extends it just a little. I like the guy. You might like him, too!
