Performance Dance Centre is the best dance/aerial arts studio in Columbus, Ga. All the teachers are professionals. The studio is clean and very welcoming. Carrie Paris the director/owner is wonderful. The kids love her! I have been amazed at what her students learn!!!

Performance Dance Centre is always welcoming and open to all levels. Im classically trained ballet. I never felt out of place or that I didnt belong. Carrie and other instructors worked with me during class when they saw me struggling. They were encouraging and positive during my entire experience. The front office staff is always positive behavior also seen throughout the entire studio. When you come to PDC, you become part of their family. They care about every dancer not just their competition teams as I experienced at other studios. I couldnt be more pleased with the experience I had with them for several years.

My daughter has dance at PDC for 10 years and have loved every minute of it. She has become such a beautiful dancer under Carrie Paris and the rest of the instructors. They truly care about your child and their growth. I am proud to say they will forever be family to us!

Sorely disappointed in this center. My daughter attended both aerial silks and Lyra taught by Courtney, who had her very obvious favorites. I personally observed one little girl ask for help by Courtney multiple times during the year my daughter attended aerial silks and Lyra. The little girl had to run and catch Courtney who was talking and laughing with the favorite students or parents. That particular little girl stopped going to silks. I also witnessed Courtney, and it hurt my heart, make a big deal when helping a separate child; grunting while helping a little girl pull up into certain aerial silk positions and once take in a huge breath and grunt while helping another child into the swing. Afterwards she rolled her eyes. When my daughter had to occasionally miss class due to illness we were told to take her to open gym to make up for what was missed. During open gym Courtney would be chatting on the phone or speaking and carrying on with one of the adult students. My daughter would ask Courtney questions and Courtney would tell her to simply work on her showcase routine or tell her to work on something she had found challenging and then Courtney would continue on with the phone call or the conversation with the older student. My daughter, more than once, told Courtney she all of the sudden remembered that we had somewhere else to go and run to the car crying because she was so very overwhelmed and felt ignored. Because I parked in the closest spot to the bay door I witnessed this many times but was trying to teach my daughter to help assert herself.
Purchase any drinks you or your child will need because the vending machines will take your money and not drop a drink out. Carrie does not reimburse over this. Most recently when my husband brought it up she laughed it off and said she can't be expected to know how to ensure they (the machines) were in operational order at all times.
Between Thanksgiving break, Christmas break, the New Year, and Courtney being sick with Covid my daughter only had 2 or 3 classes in a span of 2 months. My husband asked Courtney about this and she said that it balances out because some months are longer while some other months were shorter. The following week my husband spoke with Carrie about the amount of canceled classes and he felt it not fair that we had paid 2 or 3 months worth of classes and only attended a few classes. Carrie told him that she doesn't pro-rate classes. My husband than said to her, "So let me understand this here. You are providing a service for said amount for the span of a month. If we do not get all of the classes we paid for that doesn't seem fair at all. We are paying you for a service that we don't benefit from". Again, this time heated, Carrie told him she will not pro-rate her classes and left to teach a dance class. Not more than 5 minutes later she went back to my husband and very heatedly demanded he get our daughter and never return if we were so unhappy with her policy. He said, "I can add that to my Google review". Carrie said, "Don't threaten me with a review! I will just respond to it and say your daughter is a behavior problem!" Let me interject here that for the entire time my daughter attended PDC, a touch over a year, I only ever left her one time for the span of about 10 minutes so that I could go and get gas for my car. I was never once was told my daughter had an issue with behavior. My husband asked a parent, and this is purely to help us as parents, if we need to address issues that she may have noticed that we as parents overlooked. She responded that our daughters have squabbles but that is typical for kids.
I sit here stunned. Absolutely stunned. I highly encourage looking at all dance studios before landing at Performance Dance Center. I just can not get over the retort that she will, basically, bad mouth our child because she is being left a negative review.
ETA: I want to point out that some of the rave reviews occurred after my initial review.

Performance Dance Centre is absolutely AMAZING! I have been dancing here since I was in 3rd grade and my training has been spectacular. All of the instructors are very kind and nurturing yet still hard on you because they want you to be a better dancer. The aerial arts program is also astounding, we have been taught so much in such little time and the instructor is wonderful. The competition team here is the best, we all are a family and the environment is so supportive. The owner/director of the studio is very kind and understanding. The end of the year show/recital is always a blast, so many priceless memories memories have been made.
