image We have been coming here since my eldest son was six months old - hes now 8. We took a break during COVID but were thrilled to learn of the return of strokes classes to the teaching lineup. Our boys (6 and 8) have benefitted greatly from working with Coach Austin - with the youngest making the swim team with less than two months learning with Austin, and the other advancing to the State meet for the very first time in each and every race he competed in for districts after never advancing before - again, contributing this success to Austin. A sincere thanks for hiring talented people like him to teach proper technique and improve these kids skill sets while continuing to make swimming fun for them!!!

image I signed up for the adult swimming lessons in order to learn to swim with my son (who is also learning from the same place!). I had (emphasis on had) a fear of drowning as I almost did when I was young. Swim Revolution advertised as adults being able to learn in 8-12 weeks - it only took me 4.
The method was strange to me at first - they hand you an ipad and you watch the lessons from your own swim lane to encourage moving at your own pace. At first I thought this was a waste but I greatly, great see the benefit and understand the why. They want everyone to be comfortable in the pool themselves and also move at your own pace. I can only imagine being in a pool with others and an instructor feeling forced to move onto the next step when I didn't feel ready, so I fully believe this is the correct approach.
There are instructors constantly walking the pool deck and walking around to chat with you, give you words of encouragement or sing praises, offer tweaks, just as an instructor would do in the water. You also have the freedom and space to try out the moves without someone constantly watching.
The lessons are brilliant. It fully tackles the fear, which is within the mind, and the first page of lessons strengthens your mind for facing the fear and also achieving calm. The lessons are perfectly gradual, starting with sitting in a chair next to the water to begin to get comfortable, but because of the way the lessons are structured, you can easily skip that if you're comfortable with starting in the water.
Because of the 3-step method in each lesson (boxed breathing, scanning your body, and where your mind is), I was fully relaxed the first time I attempted to front float. This was something I've tried again and again in pools and failed at because I didn't tackle my fear. But because of the lessons, the environment (they play calming meditation music throughout eash 90-minute lesson), I learned how to front float in one lesson and then was fully front swimming in lesson two. By lesson three, I was back floating and by the end of lesson four, I was swimming from end to end, easily changing from back to front swimming and back again for the last thirty minutes.
Sign up - they know what they're doing.
