I would not recommend them for multiple reasons: 1. There is a monthly service fee, but, at this point, most banks offer the service for free 2. There is nothing wrong with a good, old fashioned chore chart, and the visual reminder of a physical chore chart actually works better in our household 3. Closing the account is a headache - I closed my account and will not recieve my daughter's money until 10 business days later. An electric refund of just a few hundred dollars should not take 10 business days to process. 4. Once the novelty wears off, it's really pointless and redundant (IMO) 5. Customer service representatives are nice, which is why I awarded 2 stars, but again, the business model is, ultimately, not useful.

WHAT A JOKE! Card never has worked as described on website. Have had an open dispute after 48 hours of having the card. Double and triple billings for purchases and Greenlight now says I MUST wait the entire 90 days before I get my money credited back to me. Even Greenlight has acknowledged the duplicate charges, I still have to go through all the "hoops" to prove I am the victim. After talking with my local FBI, I called again today and I waited on hold for 44 minutes 12 seconds to be transferred to the US office in Atlanta, GA. I first spoke with Dillon who was of no help and then asked for a supervisor. After another 20 minutes on hold a supervisor "Jerome" took the call and said until the 90 days is over, I must leave my card open until the money is credited back to me. He did give me 90 days credit for monthly fee so I won't be charged. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could give a NEGATIVE 10 MILLIONS,PLS DONT SIGN UR KID IP FOR THIS RIP OFF!!! THIS IS TERRIBLE!!ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS U READ STE TRUE. THEY CHARGE YOU MORE THAN UR REGULAT BANK DOES, ILL LET MY KIDS SAVE AND INVEST INOTHER MARKRTS BUT THIS IS A RIP OFF!! YOUR CHILD WILL NEVER LEARN ANYTHING THRU THIS PROGRAM EXCEPT FOR HOW TO LOSE UR MONEY FASTER THAN A SPEEDING BULLET, HAD MONEY IN MY child acct , he goes to spend for his bday with his signature handsome picture on it and nothing, im like where is his money? They told me it expired and it was the fees that took it im like what expired and what fees took all his money he was saving for his bday he's 7 yrs ol and he was so disappointed, as I was to. OMG!! THEY WERE LIKE WERE SORRY BUT FEES TOOK HIS 60.00 AND HE JUST PUT IN JUST A MONTH AGO SO THEY SAID IM SORRY OUR MISTAKE WE CAN FIX IT FOR YOU. WELL, IM DONE. This wAS TERRIBLE FOR MY SON BDAY. Pls don't use this SAVE urself and child from this RiP OFF!!

I've had only issues with problems of my own procrastination or the auto or recurring fees that most of the online accounts do automatically...if you are very diligent and keep funds in separate places- which you can totally put any percentage ANYWHERE, as in save, donate,spending,etc. There can't be a safer financial resource for a person that needs to have access to funds that are not able to be withdrawn without you designating it- even if the card is stolen. I won't detail the ways they protect you, but I know that they are a call away if I have an issue- which the issues are usually my own lack of keeping communication area up to par. My kids had our checking acct. in a mess until I got these for their own personal online and "virtual" purchases. It is a savior of sanity and so much more once you get the 'hang' of the way it works. Exclusive protection means you keep it between trusting parties, and I've never lost trust in Greenlight! You need not have kids to use these awesome protections- I would recommend to anyone in a situation where they are trying to get on their feet and don't have any financial control or are in a bad situation...you will need funds and this is more than what a person can hold true in a pinch...just mind your P's and Q's. Be safe, not sorry, and get a safe and solid way to access funds for emergencies, and being only a call away, or email- if you truly need to lose your phone- or your phone is smashed or taken- just do not wait to keep yourself in the safety zone, or if need be- only have a phone- that you make certain no number known to a person who would use it to hurt or intimidate you,or their accessible people. GL is a good friend when you are in a dangerous and very scary situation. Trust is hard to earn with me, and GL gets my high-fiving,very rare choice!
