Gentry Apartments

UPDATE: Following this review, Kevette, the community manager reached out via email stating I would receive the $300 admin fee back. Even though it took awhile to receive I can say they followed through with their word. This review is strictly for the leasing process. If you are military or government stay far away from this place. I canceled my application due to receiving orders unexpectedly and they still would not refund the $300 admin fee. I wasn’t even asking for the application fee back. The representative on the phone was extremely rude and sarcastic. Off of that interaction alone I can not recommend anyone leasing an apartment here. I have leased apartments all over the world and have never had that happen.

I recently moved into the Gentry and my experience has been amazing so far! I love my spacious unit and management has been very responsive and pleasant. William made my leasing process very smooth especially with it being from out of state. I can’t thank him enough for making it less-stressful for me! Also, DJ assisted me with several things in my unit after moving in and did an awesome job! I’m happy to call Gentry my new home!

Great apartment complex. They are pretty strict about their policies but it makes for a good communal living experience. It's noisy cause if all the clubs around so I suggested getting a room on a high floor.

I’ve been here for almost a year and I’ve renewed my lease strictly out of being too lazy to move. But I’m definitely out of here next year. Pros -The floorpans are quite spacious and sensible -The customer service from the leasing office and concierge is quite nice -It’s mostly quiet with respectful neighbors Cons -This building is VERY cheaply built -When I found this place, I was captivated by the scent and building cleanliness, that is gone. It’s constantly stains in the hallways, elevators and common areas and of course smells weird -The walls are very thin and infrastructure is cheap/weak. I can hear my neighbor running water and clearly hear conversations from the street, 10 floors below. I’ve lived in the middle Manhattan with just as much noise in a similarly priced apt yet I rarely ever dealt with the issue of noise from the street. -Things are constantly breaking or not working. For example, the elevator buttons go out constantly and you can count on getting stuck in the garage once a month due to the levers/payment processor breaking -Lastly, I don’t think the outside of the building is EVER cleaned. Outside of the windows look so dirty Overall, considering the price, it’s convenient and nice but I can see that decay is inevitable because of cheap materials used and poor maintenance.
