As a first time mom knowing what and how to do things can be a challenge. My son was two years old when he started at Galileo; he would suck on a pacifier 24/7 and I didnt even know where to start with potty training! I was also worried on how we were was going to begin this separation between school / home. Bala, Ms. Katia and staff was so attentive with my son to help wean off the pacifier and accomplish potty training! He has thrived socially, cognitively, motor skills and even with his form of speech. My son will be 4 soon; listening to him speaking in full sentences and he waking up excited to go to school validates that Galileo is hands down the best decision I made for my child!

Our family moved to Tampa last year, and at the same time I started a new job after being a stay at home since my daughter was born. It was at times a very scary transition in a new place, but Galileo helped us all feel safe, thrive in a new routine and make this place feel like home. As I was juggling a baby, adjusting to being a working mom, Ms Bala, Ms Katia, Ms Marisa were my support system here. Not only did I feel comfortable dropping off my daughter at Galileo, I looked forward to the pictures of her activities with other kids throughout the day, and hearing about what she was learning and seeing her artwork when I picked her up. They helped me potty train my daughter in a couple of weeks, I could not have done it without their help! I've had the pleasure of getting to know other families who have their children attend Galileo, and they are truly wonderful people. They are organized, clean, affordable. I am hoping to have my baby attend here when she is of age!

Galileo Montessori Academy (GMA) has been an absolute treasure of a find. Im getting emotional writing this review because I know that one day well either have to move because of my job or my child will eventually grow out of the GMA program (I believe they service children ages 1-6). My child has been enrolled in GMA for about six months. Prior to enrolling at GMA, he was home with me (and homeschooled) during the beginning of the pandemic and pre-pandemic he was at an in-home day care from when he was just three months old. We moved from VA to FL during the summer and the reality of having to find a school for my child (in FL) gave me the absolute worst anxiety. I wanted to keep him safe but I also knew that I could not give him the kind of attention he deserved while working a demanding job from home. I remember the first day we visited GMA after considering many other private schools in the area. My son took to Ms. Bala and her daughter almost immediately. While I toured the school and asked questions, hed already found a book and made himself comfortable in a reading nook while reading a book with Ms. Balas daughterand he it just two years old. My son chose GMA as his school, and we are so glad that he did! I remember that our first full week of school was a challenge for us both. I was so anxious because this was the longest weve ever been apart (that my son could remember) and he had never been around so many children. His in-home day care had three children at most on any given day. By week three at GMA, he could not stop talking about the school, his teachers, and of course Ms. Bala. Pick-up time was always a bit longer because he had to make sure he hugged all of his teachers goodbye and if one of them had gone home early, he needed reassurance that they would be back tomorrow. The weekends at home were exhausting and hilarious because all wed hear about was his school and him naming every single one of his teachers over and over again. My son has grown so much in just six months. At two years old, hes more advanced socially and cognitively, and more physically independent than many of my friends children who are 5 and 6 years old. He speaks very clearly for his age, he can effectively communicate discomfort which is a godsend when hes sick, hes organized, hes particular about where his things belong at home, and he does not like clutter. My son puts his shoes away where theyre supposed to go and makes sure that theyre all facing the same direction in a neat, orderly fashion. My son understands and adheres to a schedule, he understands boundaries and whats not or babies and asks permission when hes not sure. Theres no need to baby-proof our home or others homes when we visit. Hes kind, caring, he has better manners than the average adult and is so gentle with younger children and is always trying to teach them something like colors, numbers, and even the continents. Oh and did I mention he speaks Spanish now too? The value that my child receives at GMA seems almost unfair because the tuition is still so very reasonable and my child gets individualized attention and his development week to week just amazes me. Thank you to GMA, all of the teachers and staff, and for Ms. Bala and her husband for creating such a wonderful program and enriching, educational community. This is definitely Tampas best kept secret.
