I went to an Eyeglass world in March of this year, and got an eyeglass and contacts prescription. During the exam, the doctor claimed to have my records in front of him, even though I had never been to that establishment before. The appt was really odd, and the doc didn't have me read anything to test my vision. At the end of the appt, i asked if my vision had changed and he said no. When I looked at my prescriptions, they were wildly different from my usual prescription. I mentioned my concerns during checkout, and they assured me the doctor was great and my prescription must have changed. I went for a second opinion, and the doc confirmed that the prescriptions I was given were wildly incorrect. I asked for a refund, but GCO keeps sending invoices. I called GCO many times and left messages over the last six months, with no response. STAY AWAY FROM Gulf Coast optometry or any business like Eyeglass world that works with this group - they are FRAUDULENT and their customer service is the WORST I have ever seen in my entire life.

I had an eye exam in Oct 2020. At that time I paid $89.99. The remaining balance was to be billed to my insurance. I provided that information at the time of visit. In January 2021 when I received a bill for $130 I called my insurance they confirmed theyve never received any claim from GCO. Ive called their billing department multiple time in January. They never return my calls. Now In April I received another bill for the same $130 with a 90 day notice of payment being outstanding. Ive tried to call the location of my eye exam on Dale Mabry and multiple times to the Corp billing office and no one will help me. I want the claim submitted to my insurance. Why wont anyone properly file my claim or return a single call or message. Next Ill be filing with BBB. Having a yearly eye exam billed to insurance shouldnt be an issue. 5/18/2021- no one from GCO billing has contacted me regardless of the response that someone would. Nor has anything been submitted to my insurance. Patient ID: 1532398
