Edited down to one star for the response from business owner. We had a contract and a scope of works. Many things on the scope of works weren’t done. Payment was demanded for, amongst other things, toilets that I had bought, floors that weren’t laid etc. Be careful. Original review. I’ve just finished a $150k remodel with these guys. I was thinking about a 1-star review, but I made it 2 as we do now have something we can live in, unlike other reviews I’ve read. Forget the 5-star reviews on google and houzz - one was left by Josh Downing, the CEO of DMG, one by someone related to his business partner Jason Horrocks, and another, by Victoria, who is his secretary. My experience chimes with a lot of the other genuine reviews I’ve read. These guys are very keen to take your money, but once they do, not much happens, and lots of excuses are made. Our 10-week remodel took 6 months to the day, and still hasn’t been finished to the standard we would expect. I suspect it only got finished because 3 months ago I started hassling DMG a few times a day and became the de facto project manager. Anyone thinking about working with these guys - make sure the schedule of draws is acceptable to you, and don’t pay a cent of each draw until the contracted work is complete. And don’t sign unless there is a penalty clause for timeliness - make it fair by offering extra $$ if the job is completed ahead of their expected schedule. And good luck!

I suppose the main element of a review should simply be, would you hire the company again? The answer to that with DMG is a definitive NO. In reference to your response I am editing this review so as to not be "anonymous". A simple search of your database should reveal you have a client with the last name of Farr. My name is Scott Farr. So anonymity is out of the way. Furthermore I am literally shocked by your response. I cannot believe you are going to drag a tragedy like last week into this venue. I have contacted your company on numerous occasions trying to rectify a "product or experience" problem. You have an opportunity to remove this review by taking care of the problem that you said you would take care of. So let's see how the "good guys" handle this.

I first want to state I am allowing Deidre Williams to use my account as she does not have a gmail account and she has the contract so I don't want DMG to claim I do not have a contract with them. Please do not do business with DMG, they will try to take advantage of you and steal from you. I am a single female and my house was damaged by the hurricane, I hired DMG to rehab and improve my property. Part of the job was paid by insurance claim and part (mostly) out of pocket. I first started working with Jason, co-owner, he helped demo the property. I was then switched to a contractor named Mike for rebuild. I was convinced to pay a large amount up front in order to start the process of rebuilding. Unfortunately as a single female who has never renovated a property I did not know any better. They exploited this opportunity and took advantage of my trust. As soon as the money was received they essentially stopped working. I attempted to obtain a status on the projects to be performed only to be lied to, for example I tried to remove new windows from the project only to be told they had already been ordered which was not true. My house has sat for months, after several attempts to schedule a meeting they finally met with me. During the meeting I sat with mike and another employee claiming to want to fix the situation and continue work on the house. They were unaware of where my project currently sat, stated they will be adding more fees to an already overpriced budget. The only resolution, if you can call it that, was they would start on agreed upon projects the following week. The following week I attempt to reach out to them by text, phone call and email, all of which were ignored. They are still sitting on my money and I have met with an attorney to file a lawsuit. PLEASE take my advice and avoid using DMG, it will only end in frustration, loss of time, money, and dignity.
