Slightly higher prices than average but they store their wood nicely and they have a lot of stuff in stock, real people available to help you get what you want, and they can deliver too

One of the last family owned lumber yards around and I based my review with that in consideration. They may not have the same amount of stock as the big lumber yards, or as wide a selection when it comes to lumber or hardware, their prices may be a little higher on most items but when you buy there you're investing your money back into the local economy. Instead of funding some CEO's Hawaii vacation your money stays right in town and comes back around to other local businesses.
PLUS, they're really the only lumber yard for MILES if you're doing a job out in Old Saybrook so if you're in a pinch they're the only game in town .
I often complain to myself about the high prices but really prices are high everywhere and honestly if you're doing a project anywhere around there the people can most likely afford to spend a little more on materials so in the end it doesn't really effect your bottom line.
Hope this helps. Best of luck to you out there.

Terrible customer service, they don't want to be bothered with any questions or small orders. Aside from that, this is a lumber yard that does not accept American Express credit cards?? Generally at a lumber yard you spend multiple $100's or $1000's and they don't accept a major credit card? I would rather travel an additional 30 min next time we work in this area than use this store for convenience because there is none.
