The San Marino assisted living was at one time a privately owned caring community where both residents and staff were treated with respect and dignity but now just corporate-owned with over- worked minimum staff and an uncaring corporate management.
The AL side management wants residents that have minimal needs, they want docile residents to sit in the lobby or their rooms with little engagement or enrichment.
I had a loved one there with early Alzheimers disease and they ignored neurologist assessment of him needing assisted living level of care. Instead the management wanted him in their memory care unit because of potential insurance risk . Ignoring the UC Medical Neuro assessment, San Marino issued a 30-day lease termination because the family took the advice of medical professionals and not the corporate bureaucrats.
They have terminated many leases of residents over the last 6 months because of them actually needing some care. Dont move your loved one to San Marino if they need assisted living.
